Truleigh Hill Photo-walk

Saturday 4th April 2026

13:00 - 17:00

Settle into Spring with creativity, birdsong and crisp fresh air, on a relaxed photo-walk to Truleigh Hill. Using your own mobile phone or personal DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, we’ll explore winding chalk paths, woodland and rolling hillside views from Truleigh Hill, through different ways of noticing your surroundings and engaging with your senses through mindful approaches to making photographs.

Open to all levels of experience, these walks focus less on the technical elements of how to take a perfect picture, but more on ways in which we can connect with our senses through noticing and observing the micro and macro livings worlds of nature that we sometimes may overlook within our day-to-day lives.

What is a mindfulness photo-walk?

A photo-walk is an organised outing where a group of people interested in photography journey through a specific area to take pictures. Drawing inspiration from Sophie Howarth’s book The Mindful Photographer, these workshops combine the core aspects of a photo-walk with mindfulness exercises throughout key waypoints of the walk, including a grounding technique, perspective and object contemplation exercises to encourage different ways of creative thinking in a relaxed and playful learning environment.

Who is this for?

For adults of all ages who live locally, have an interest in photography, enjoy doing creative activities and want to feel closer to nature.
