Saturday 7th March 2026
13:00 - 16:00

Join me, for a gentle photo-walk along Shoreham Port exploring the blend of both natural and urban environments that make up this unique stretch of coastline. Using your own mobile phone or your personal DSLR/Mirrorless cameras, we will focus on the changing light, waves, textures of the shoreline along Southwick Beach.
Open to all levels of experience, these walks focus less on the technical elements of how to take a perfect picture, but more on ways in which we can connect with our senses through noticing and observing the micro and macro livings worlds of nature that we sometimes may overlook within our day-to-day lives.
What is a mindfulness photo-walk?
A photo-walk is an organised outing where a group of people interested in photography journey through a specific area to take pictures. Drawing inspiration from Sophie Howarth’s book The Mindful Photographer, these workshops combine the core aspects of a photo-walk with mindfulness exercises throughout key waypoints of the walk, including a grounding technique, perspective and object contemplation exercises to encourage different ways of creative thinking in a relaxed and playful learning environment.
Who is this for?
For adults of all ages who live locally, have an interest in photography, enjoy doing creative activities and want to feel closer to nature.
